Ankush Hazra’s acting journey is a remarkable tale of determination, resilience, and hard work. Born in a middle-class family in Bardhaman, a city of West Bengal, he had to struggle a lot to make a place for himself in the Bengali film industry. Below, the coaches of an acting institute in Kolkata have discussed his journey.

The beginning of Journey:

From his early childhood, Ankush Hazra was a movie lover. He used to go to the theatre to watch different kinds of films and fell in love with the larger-than-life characters on screen. He realized that cinema has the power to captivate the audience in a way that they get completely immersed in it. So, he decided to pursue acting as a career.

After completing his class 12 board exams, his struggle began. He started dropping his portfolio at different studios to try out his luck. He struggled as he was rejected by most studios during this time.

Though the time was unfavorable, despite all odds, the actor turned his dream into reality when he landed his first role in the movie ‘Kellafate’ (2010).

Journey to Success:

After Hazra’s first film ‘Kellafate’, he had a gap of two years before he signed his second film ‘Idiot’ (2012). Since then, he starred in a series of films ‘Jamai 420’ (2015), ‘Ki Kore Toke Bolbo’ (2015), and ‘Zulfiqar’ (2016), which turned out to be blockbusters. During this time, he also became a part of the famous production banner ‘SVF’.

Later, there was a phase where some of his films did not perform up to the mark. For instance, he had great expectations from his Durga Puja release ‘Bolo Dugga Maiki’ (2017). However, it failed to win the hearts of the audience.

Though he was disappointed at some of his films not working out, he did not let that hold him back. He took a break from the silver screen, and dedicated his time to refining his skill. As a modelling institute in Kolkata, we cannot help but admire his resilience.

His hard work was rewarded when he got the opportunity to work in the film, ‘Villain’ (2018). It was a big hit at the box office, and he managed to hold the audience in awe with his outstanding performance in the film.
